Update – It’s true.

According to this image, purportedly taken from the latest Famitsu, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is on the way to PS3.

If true, this is almost certainly the Tecmo game set to be announced in San Francisco next week.

There’s bound to be more on this throughout the day, so keep your peepers peeled, ninja fans.

Looks real. And no doubt PS3 owners will rush to buy it in their millions, just like they did the original Ninja Gaiden Sig… oh.

NG2 is the “the greatest “_____” game, ever!”? Humph…

Yeah, had a feeling it was going to be this.

I thought MS put the money up for NG2, so I’m surprised at this! No chance it’s a new title is there?

MS published NG2 but that pretty much means nothing more then timed exclusive, they dont have any rights to the IP.

Shame the 360s not getting it. I was hoping for a Ninja Gaiden Black 2. Where Black made NG1 even better, I’d hoped NGB2 could perhaps make NG2 less of a travesty.

With Team Ninja more or less gone and last year’s everyone-suing-each-other shennaningans, looks like this is the only way Tecmo have currently got to squeeze anything anything out of the licence.

YES! At last, I had a feeling it would come, just a matter of when. Now lets hope they don’t do a straight port but instead tweak it a bit to make a better game. I seem to recall the 360 reviews of it were a little bit marmite…

NG2 was great….right up until the point where the difficulty curve on it made you want to chew through your own wrists in frustration.

I found it to be pretty crappy and ALOT easyier then the first game.

It was easier than the first game, until you got the the higher difficulty level anyway.

To be honest, NG2 is probably easier across all the difficulties… since you can get through most of the hardest setting by spamming the same move over and over, and the rest of it by being a cheap bastard against the bosses. I’d love it if they made it less exploitable, less cheap and more in line with NGB’s difficulty – harder but fairer. A boss AI overhaul would have been nice too, half the bosses have the exact same AI.
