Team17 to give exclusive look at Alien Breed Evolution during GDC

Team17 will be showing the enhanced Worms port for PS3/PSN at the Sony booth during GDC later this month — but that’s not all.
Attendees will get an exclusive look at Alien Breed Evolution, a modern day re-make of the 1991 original.
The new game was developed using Unreal3, and will be a digital download for XBLA.
No word on when it will be released, but GDC is just around the corner, and more information will be coming out then.

Awesome news, had many good times playing AB thought for a while it had been canned with the lack of info.

OMG!
Hopefully they’ll refine with modern game design theory those bits where you could run out of keys and/or ammo and get completely, permanently stuck, or get game-over-and-back-to-the-started for failing to find your way through a maze within a strict time limit…

I was never that fond of these games, they were ‘OK’ for me in co-op but… well.

The only mis-step with Alien Breed that T17 made was trying to make it 3D and make it the Amiga’s Doom, it just didn’t work very well.
Hopefully they’ll have done a good job on this, I loved the first 2D games.

Was this a top-down shooter like Chaos Engine? In fact, CE would be a GREAT game with online co-op over XBLA or PSN.
Good to see Team 17 still doing the rounds, even if the Bitmaps aren’t around anymore.

I’m not buying into this being exclusive to XBLA. Clearly, neither are these guys: http://forum.team17.com/showthread.php?p=688202
Sourced news articles are nice, too.

I wonder if it’ll still have Allister Brimble’s mum as the voice of the computer?
