halo3a.jpg

Halo 3 was the most played games on Xbox Live for the week beginning November 24, beating both Gears of War 2 and Call of Duty: World at War to number one.

Just goes to show. Bungie all the way. Here’s the top ten.

  1. Halo 3
  2. Gears of War 2
  3. CoD: World at War
  4. Call of Duty 4
  5. GTA IV
  6. Fable II
  7. Left 4 Dead
  8. Madden NFL 09
  9. Fallout 3
  10. FIFA 09

No surprises. Everyone’s fed up of the crappy matchmaking laggy ass shit everyone has to put up with in every single game. Myself included.

add up the cod 4 and 5 numbers and you get a realistic number. i doubt halo is really in the top spot.

It’s nice to see Fallout 3 in there, that’s one game in that list that I really have a soft spot for. Despite the bad DLC, and the fact that it’s a sequel, Fallout 3 is the only sequel in the past few months that was different enough from the last game in the series to almost be a new IP. Bethesda got into my good books with that.

I too doubt that Halo 3 is the most played, though, unless my view of the average gamer is still too optimistic.

Nice set of nonsensical sentences there. Well done.

Yes. Yes it is.

I suspect the Halo surge is related to 360 price cuts. Lots of new consoles out there being played and Halo 3 is the biggest title to buy and play when you get it.

Is the list based on number of people or time played?

This is because the COD community is split between two games. A ton want to stay with the stable cod4. While many are giving the POS COD5 a shot. More people will move back to 4 once they are stuck in geometry a few more times a day.

jeremy,
That doesn’t make any sense. Those are two separate games. It’s like me saying that we should combine Halo 3 and Halo 2 numbers because they share the same name, but some gamers like to duel-wield more on Halo 2, or use the RRX combo, or that the maps are to their liking (i.e. Ascension).

Maybe the map pack price cut will give Halo 3 an edge again next week? i don’t care, my copy of Halo 3 has been its in case for ages now.
