GTA IV PC suffers slight delay, min specs released, more hands-ons posted

According to this IGN story, Rockstar’s confirmed that the PC version of GTA IV has been delayed from November till December 2.

In addition, minimum specs have been released. And here they are:

Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows Vista – Service Pack 1 / XP – Service Pack 3
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz
  • Memory: 1.5GB, 16GB Free Hard Drive Space
  • Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900

Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows Vista – Service Pack 1 / XP – Service Pack 3
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1Ghz
  • Memory: 2 GB (Windows XP) 2.5 GB (Windows Vista)
  • 18 GB Free Hard Drive Space
  • Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870

In additioner to that, IGN UK and Gamespot have both posted up new impressions of the PC version.

    Hope they make some mods that somehow make the game less dull and more like earlier GTAs! :)

    I’m actually hoping they’ll do a current generation Vice City, as I’d really like to see that. Still, in the interim, Saints Row II really isn’t that bad when it comes to colour.

    The modding community likely won’t do a complete overhaul, that’s usually a bit too difficult where GTA is concerned, considering that GTA doesn’t have an SDK as far as I know? Not even San Andreas has had anything of the sort really, ad that’s a shame. If Rockstar really wanted to embrace mods, they’d need to open up the game a bit more and provide an SDK. The game can be modded, yes, but going by previous GTA games I’d have to say that the mods probably won’t be that impressive.
