Mysterious Square Enix FPS found in contractor's CV

An artist's resume has revealed what seems to be an unannounced Square Enix shooter, probably now residing in the land of cans.

Both the website and LinkedIn profile of artist and 3D modelling contractor Daveed Kaplan make reference to a "first person shooter based in feudal Japan" in production at Square Enix.

Kaplan worked on the enigmatic title from February to July of 2010 as art director, at Square Enix's Cambridge, Massachusetts facilities.

The game is listed as "under NDA", but the brief contract of its art director and a reference to "demo" and "pitch" suggest the project never got off the ground.

Square Enix has produced at least one shooter in the past - 2006's generally-derided, third-person Dirge of Cerberus - as well as publishing several third-party efforts.

Currently, Kaplan is a senior artist at 343 Industries, working on what is presumably the next Halo.

Thanks, Miladesn.
