Information on planned "spiritual follow-up" to The Warriors outed

It looks as though at one time, 2K had planned another Warriors title, only its setting was in 1960s Britain.

According to a post from Half-Life 2 zombie mod creator Matt Kazan, the former environmental artist at Rockstar Toronto said the games was to be titled We are the Mods, as it was based on the Mods vs Rockers era of the UK.

"The project had begun as a PlayStation 2 spiritual follow-up to the earlier hit 'The Warriors', but part way through the development cycle Rockstar New York asked us to switch Mods from a Sixth Generation to a Seventh Generation development,, canging from the PlayStation 2 to the Xbox 360 as the primary development platform," he said. "Much of the content here reflects that change, with Mods being the first Seventh Generation project the team had worked on.

"It was a learning experience for everyone involved. The game was similar in design and style to 'The Warriors' but set in 1960's England at the height of the "Mods" vs. "Rockers" era."

Kazan's post goes on to detail how Red Dead Redemption originally started life as a PS2 and Xbox game, and how the team he worked on at Rockstar Toronto was tasked with redoing much of San Diego's earlier artwork on what was, at the time, known as RDR2.

Kazan's post has since been removed and replaced with a drawing of male genitalia, but not before CVG was able to pull the pertinent information off of it, courtesy of a tweet from Superannuation.
