Games Done Quick's summer stream raised over $3 million for doctors without borders

The Games Done Quick charity event for summer 2019 was an extraordinary success.

The Summer Games Done Quick stream, hosted on Twitch, challenged numerous players to speedrun through a variety of games, and allowed viewers to donate money while watching to enter into the running for various prizes.

All money raised is going to Doctors Without Borders is an independent, global organisation that aims to provide healthcare where it is most needed throughout the world. Although the stream has ended, you can still donate.

As of right now, the event has raised over $3 million, absolutely eclipsing any number the event has ever achieved before.

Their YouTube channel is full of videos from the stream. Here are some examples of the kind of mad runs we saw:

There are plenty more where that came from, if you've got the time.

Games Done Quick has run since 2010, and this is the most any single event has raised. The previous record was set in January, when the Awesome Games Done Quick stream raised $2,425,790 for Prevent Cancer Foundation.

Their next stream event will be Games Done Quick Express on September 27-29.
