Killing Floor 2 kicks off another grand Summer Sideshow event
Killing Floor 2's latest summer event takes you to a new airship map high above solid ground.
By this point, it's clear Tripwire Interactive really enjoys these Killing Floor seasonal events. And you can't really blame them: these limited-time outings offer new maps, Zed types, playable characters, and a healthy dose of pitch-black humor.
One of the most popular versions - the Summer Sideshow -
has returned for all Killing Floor 2 platforms. And if you enjoyed previous summer events, I suspect you'll really get a kick out of this one.
Summer Sideshow: Treacherous Skies is a direct sequel to 2013's Steamland map. This time, players face hordes of enemies aboard a massive flying airship, and must complete objectives to safely reach the Ringmaster's island home. Not only will you face circus-themed Zeds, but deadly robots that continue fighting once their heads are destroyed.
But that's not the only map. Killing Floor 2 also introduces Endless Lockdown, a fan-made community map that has been officially added to the library. Players also have access to Mrs. Foster, a new playable DLC character voiced by Claudia Black.
On the weapons front, Treacherous Skies introduces a new weapon upgrade system. This lets you take classic weapons from previous updates and enhance them to avoid late-game feature creep. Killing Floor 2 players can also use a Prestige system to reset leveled perks for an exclusive weapon skin and other rewards.
