Prey's alternate timeline depicts a future where JFK lived to see the space program flourish
Sounds as though Prey will have an interesting, alternate timeline.
In this video filmed by Bethesda during its E3 2016 showcase, Arkane Studios boss Raphael Colantonio discusses how in the game, John F. Kennedy survived the assassination attempt in 1963.
With JFK still running the country, more resources were poured into the space program. Fast forward to 2032, the focus on space exploration has reached its pinnacle, with various corporations operating in space and humans living in the space stations.
This particular space station is called Talos 1, and it's the primary location in Prey. Orbiting the moon, it was built during JFK's term, and expanded over the years. Some sections have been updated and are current, while others still maintain a mid-60s style of retro-futurisim, while the section built by Russia has a bit of Art Deco flair.
This means players should expect various aesthetics depending upon which section of the space station they are in.
It sounds rather interesting, and you get a look at some of the different forms of decor in the video above.
Prey is slated for release in 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
