Disgaea coming to PC with extra content, new UI and more

What has two thumbs and is coming to PC? Dis guy-a! Sorry.

Although it doesn't have a lot of competition outside the Nippon Ichi stables, Disgaea is one of the most respected SRPG properties in current rotation.

The original PS2 2003 release that started it all, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, is on its way to PC at last, having released on PSP and DS in the interim.

The new version is simply titled Disgaea PC, and includes extra content produced for earlier ports. It's expected on Steam in February, and also features an updated UI, new textures, support for both controllers and keyboard and mouse set ups, and all the usual Steamworks features like cloud saves, achievements, badges and trading cards.

If you're not familiar with Disgaea, it's set in the Netherworld, and stars the demon prince Laharl on a quest to become Overlord. There are 40 different character types, a bunch of unique features like the Item World and Geo Panels, and a New Game Plus-style feature called Transmigration in which your characters get even more bad-ass.

The whole thing is very joyful and silly; the max level is 9999, and you do millions of points of damage. You can throw enemies (and friends) around, and the animations are ridiculous. A penguin plays a prominent role.
