Titanfall is coming to Asia, as a free-to-play PC shooter

Titanfall is the latest shooter to spawn a free-to-play offshoot in Asia.

EA has entered into a partnership with Nexon, the major Asian publisher known for its free-to-play games, to work on a free-to-play version of Titanfall for the Asian market.

Details are scant, but we do know that it will be a PC title, given the platform's dominance in Asian markets. There's also no word whether it will be coming west, though that seems unlikely.

"We look forward to working with the talented teams at Respawn and EA and leveraging Nexon's free-to-play expertise to deliver a new and engaging online game based on Titanfall To the Asian market," said Nexon president and CEO Owen Mahoney in a statement obtained by IGN.

This of course has nothing to do with whatever developer Respawn is currently working on. It's also not Titanfall 2.
