Super Smash Bros: A New Controller is Approaching!

Fighting game players are characteristically picky about their controller of choice, so before the new Smash Bros. for the Wii U, PDP (Performance Designed Products) are throwing a new design into the ring called the Wired Fight Pad.

Inspired by the iconic GameCube controller, the Fight Pad is licensed by Nintendo and will basically act like Nintendo's own Classic Controller line, but at a lower price point. Plugging into the extension port at the bottom of a Wii remote, the Fight Pad is compatible with Wii and Wii U games that support the Classic Controller and the Classic Controller Pro, including some Virtual Console titles.

And to spruce it up, it will come in designs featuring characters like Mario, Yoshi and Princess Peach.

The Wired Fight Pad will retail at US $24.99, and will be available this holiday season - just in time for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Thanks, Gamasutra.
