BAFTA just held its yearly game awards show last week, during which The Last of Us scooped Game of the Year and four other awards. VG247’s Sam Clay was there to quiz Harvey Elliot; chair of the BAFTA games committee, on just how the judges whittle down the long-list and crown the ultimate winners.

In the clip above, Elliot discussed the process of developers putting their games forward for consideration, and how the jury then play-tests and discusses which games should be included in the final lists. He also touched on the penetration of indie games in the market and how they can compete with the big players.
