Warhammer 40K: Storm of Vengeance due March 27, tower defence game gets trailer

Warhammer 40K: Storm of Vengeance is the latest Games Workshop title, currently in development at Eutechnyx. It's a tower defence take on the tabletop series, and it's due to launch March 27, with a beta phase planned for February 27. The first trailer has dropped.

Eurogamer reports that Storm of Vengeance sees the Dark Angels marine faction fighting Orks in a five-lane game of tower defence across a 50-level campaign based on the book 'Purging of Kadillus' by Gav Thorpe. Players can also place structures into the play-space, and the winner is whichever side destroys three of their opponent's buildings first.

Both sides have their own resources, unit types and crafting trees. The Dark Angels can use a resource called Redemption to buy unit cards from production structures such as the Rhino tank. There's also a levelling system that can be used to upgrade units and another resource type called Resolve that is used to upgrade hero units.

Eutechnyx game designer Kenton Fletcher told the site, "We're not trying to be Candy Crush in space," and confirmed there will be no microtransactions at play, and the game will cost £6.99 On iOS and £2.99 on Android.
