New mobile devices will out-perform current-gen consoles, says Nvidia boss

Nvidia's senior vice president of content and technology Tony Tamasi believes the next wave of mobile devices will be more powerful than current-generation consoles.

"The PS3 and Xbox 360 are barely more powerful than mobile devices. The next click of mobile phones will outperform [them]," Tamasi said, according to a Bit-Tech report.

Tamasi was apparently referring to whatever technology Nvidia brings out in succession to its latest powerful mobile processor, the Tegra 4.

Nvidia hasn't had much good to say about consoles lately; despite its close relationship with the chip manufacturer over the last decade, Sony chose rival AMD to power the PlayStation 4, and Tamasi said recently that Nvidia itself chose not to get involved.

Thanks, Eddy.
