S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-inspired Crysis mod to become standalone indie release

Owl Game Studio, a group made up of Russian modders, has announced its S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-inspired Crysis mod, CryZone: Sector 23, will be released as a full game using CryEngine 3.

The title first appeared on the radar back in February when the team was known as World of Stalker.

CryZone: Sector 23 is set in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe and tells the story of a man who has journeyed into a forbidden zone to find a Wishmaster who he hopes can resurrect his son.

New locations, destructible environments, new weapons and mutants will be included, along with healing system similar to the one included in Far Cry 2.

There's no release date yet, and the game will not be a full commercial release due the "resources and settings" being pulled from GSC Game World's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.

Thanks, RPS, Moddb.
