Metal Gear series sells 31 million, makes it into the Smithsonian

Since 1987, the Metal Gear series has become one of the most popular in games.  So popular in fact that art from the series is being featured in the Smithsonian!

The game art will be featured as part of The Art of Video Games exhibition which runs from March 16 through September 30th.

Moreover, GameInformer reports that games in the series have sold over 31 million copies as of December, 2011.  Impressive, Snake.
