MGS: Peace Walker, Castlevania help Konami income push

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow helped Konami to an income high last year, the company confirmed in its FY2011 financials.

Operating income was at ¥21 billion (£159 million/$259 million), up from ¥19 billion in the previous year.

Net sales were down at ¥258 billion (£1.9 billion/$3.1 billion) from ¥262 billion last year.

Konami said that sales of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 "progressed favorably," with the whole PES series now at 70 million sales worldwide.

It added that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow had seen "healthy sales" since its launch last October.

Konami said that production on various titles in the company for NGP is "under way."
