Will Wright springs surprise GDC talk

Will Wright

With practically the last session of the event, Sims and Spore creator Will Wright surprised attendees at GDC by doing a talk at the event.

The event was already organised, but under the alias of "Phaedrus" just in case he couldn't do it.

During the session, he talked about the industry as a whole, but also the entertainment business as a whole, stating he's seeing the problems the games industry is going through as an observer.

"Perspectives are more valuable than solutions," said Wright.

He also talked about his feelings after founding new studio Stupid Fun Club in April last year, which has three projects in the pipeline.

"I feel like in my career I'm swinging back towards the experimental."

He also showed some slides of Hello Kitty and M&Ms. God knows what they were there for, though.
