Dragon Age out before April 2009

Speaking here, Bioware's Matt Atwood has promised that long in-development RPG Dragon Age will be released before April 2009. The game was previously only confirmed for a 2009 release.

Atwood wasn't shy about bigging the title up.

"When you make a statement like 'this is the RPG that people have been waiting for', then you better back it up and you better spend a hell of a lot of time on it," he said. "I think we're going to be extremely proud and our fans are going to be extremely excited. And you'll hear more about it pretty quick."

The game is reckoned to be the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate, and demand is likely to be extremely high when Bioware finally lifts the lid on the project. As regards platform, Atwood said, "It is for the PC, but as far as exclusivity we haven't said anything on that."

More soon, hopefully.
