World of Tanks trial to be offered to XBL Silver members
Wargaming has announced it will offer Xbox 360 players a free trial of World of Tanks to Silver members of Xbox Live. While a Gold membership will still be needed to play the free-to-play game online at launch, this way everyone can try before they buy. World of Tanks will release on Xbox 360 this summer. NVIDIA sponsoring World of Tanks International Open tournament
NVIDIA has announced plans to host a World of Tanks International open tournament. It will be held in Asia Pacific, China, Europe, Russia and the Americas where the best seven-member teams will compete for with the best out of three games the winner. The tournament will last for four weeks before Grand Finals where up to $100,000 in prizes will be offered, along with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 600 card. World of Tanks session, and Diamond Dash postmortem added to GDC Europe
GDC Europe organizers have announced a World of Tanks developer session from Wargaming.net, and mobile a postmortem on mobile title Diamond Dash. Wargaming.net CEO Victor Kislyi will discuss in his session titled “World of Free-to-Play – Triple A by Wargaming.net,” how the F2P business model was “essential to the success” of World of Tanks, and how the model could eventually edge out boxed retail.
