World of Warplanes to add Japanese Imperial aircraft

Wargaming has announced a new set of Japanese Imperial aircraft for its combat sim, World of Warplanes.

The first batch to arrive will be carrier-based fighters - Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero, Nakajima Type 91, Mitsubishi J4M1 Senden interceptor, and unused canard prototypes Kyushu J7W1, J7W2 and J7W3. Wargaming said WWII-era Japanese aircraft were lauded for their "exceptional horizontal maneuverability" and "impressive array of armaments" as well as increased field of vision.

There's a trailer and some screens below; Wargaming also sent about a million identical aircraft renders but I accidentally closed the tab and set my desk on fire. Sorry.

The free-to-play World of Warplanes is in closed beta; no date has been attached to its release or that of the new aircraft beyond a vague "soon". Sign up here.
