SWTOR’s Gree in-game event returns next week
The ancient Gree starship, Gray Secant, is returning to Ilum May 21-28, and will provide SWTOR players with some nifty rewards such as unique armor, pets, weapons, and the like. Players will earn Reputation points has they “fight the Gree’s grand mission,” and players level 45 and over can jump into the event before it returns at level 55 in the future. SWTOR update 2.1 is live, video shows dyes and other customization options
Bioware has released a SWTOR video giving you a better look at the new customization options which launched today with update 2.1. You were given a slight glimpse last week, now set your eyes on the video below which shows off the Appearance Designer in action. And don’t forget about the new playable Cathar species either.

SWTOR dye modules coming with next week’s update previewed
SWTOR is getting dye modules with game update 2.1, and to show these off a bit, BioWare has released a new video. It’s less than a minute long, but it gives you the idea well enough. SWTOR game update 2.0 video is rife with Scum and Villainy
SWTOR game update 2.0 went live today, and Bioware has released a new video rife with the Legions of Scum and Villainy. The later is a level 55 operation, and contains various, vicious enemies you’ll face on the planet Darvannis. The video also give you a look at the new Legacy Achievements system. The game update went live yesterday alongside early access to Rise of the Hutt Cartel, along with guild rewards such as a stackable 5% boost to experience. Hit up the video below.

SWTOR has 2 million new accounts since going F2P, new customization features planned
Star Wars: The Old Republic has gained 2 million new accounts since going free-to-play, according to the latest State of the Game letter from executive producer Jeff Hickman. He also said that “thousands of new players jumping in every single day,” and the MMO’s “high capacity servers are teeming with people.” This spring, the game’s Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion will launch, and a new customization feature giving players more options to change their character’s appearance using Cartel Coins will be released for the MMO sometime this summer. SWTOR same-gender romance option coming with spring’s Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion
SWTOR executive producer Jeff Hickman has revealed his latest State of the Game report that same-gender romance between players and NPCs on Makeb will be added to the MMO with the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion, slated for spring. More SGR options will be added “in the future.” The expansion also adds several new systems, five new levels, a large new planet, new storylines, new skills and new abilities. Hickman also noted that the game has seen an increase in player numbers since going free-to-play, and changes to “a special PvP area,” are slated for Update 1.7, and more endgame content and the ability to copy characters to the test server are all on the way. SWTOR Update 1.6: Ancient Hypergate launches next week
Bioware has announced SWTOR Update 1.6: Ancient Hypergate will launch next week. The update introduces the new Ancient Hypergate Warzone where players will team up to gain control over powerful energy pylons. These pylons can be used to “unleash the power of the ancient Gree hypergate” against one’s enemies. The update will also include six Heroic Space Missions for each faction. Servers will be brought down in the game to apply the update on December 11.

SWTOR developer video details Game Update 1.5: HK-51 Activated
SWTOR has a new developer dispatch video available which discusses some of the new content coming with Game Update 1.5: HK-51 Activated. In the video, members of the development team outline some of the missions present in the new Section X area on Belsavis, how players will search the galaxies for clues in order to unlock the HK-51 Companion as their very own Assassin Droid, and more. There’s also a look the final pieces of the Dread Guard gear set and a rare new mount earned by taking on Operation: Explosive Conflict in Nightmare Mode.
