Ryse: Son of Rome has a couple new videos available over on Gamespot. We won’t embed those here, so you will have to click the link to watch. One details a bit of the game’s story, telling why Marius Titus became such a vengeful man while the other tells the story of Damocles, a figure featured in a legendary moral anecdote called “the Sword of Damocles”. The latter is toldf through animation. Ryse is a Microsoft-published Xbox One launch title due in November.

Ryse: Son of Rome was originally a first-person Kinect game, and after “toying with various ideas” how to blend the point-of-view “with the potential of Kinect,” Crytek created three different prototypes, with the winner resulting in the game coming to Xbox One at launch. Crytek has posted a job listing which states the Ryse team is looking for a multiplayer producer. A resume popped up last month stating the game was headed that direction, suggesting Ruffian was “contracted” to work on that end of the development. Neither Microsoft nor Crytek have said the game will be exclusively single-player, and a release date has yet to be etched in stone. Via Superannuation.

Tony Davis, the director of Crytek gladiator Kinect game Ryse, has joined ngmoco Sweden, GI.Biz is reporting this morning. Davis worked on the original Far Cry and both Crysis games as well as Ryse in his time at Crytek. Also joining him is Vesselin Efremov, an ex artist working for Crytek on an unknown project at its Black Sea studio. It’s the third Crytek member to jump ship to ngmoco Sweden – headed by ex-EA Easy GM Ben Cousins – having already gained ex-senior development director at Crytek, Senta Jakobson.
