Ryse development "moving forward really well," says Crytek

Ryse development is "moving forward really well," according to Crytek

Speaking with Eurogamer, Crytek's Cevat Yerli said even though development has shifted from the firm's Budapest studio to the one in Frankfurt one, development direction hasn't shifted along with the move.

"The development team shifted, but for different reasons than people assume," said Yerli. "People think it's because it didn't work out, but actually it was a studio redirection - we wanted Budapest to focus a bit more on mobile and tablet, and they released Fibble, which was quite an excursion for Crytek. And we'll do more casual stuff but that's also free-to-play

"With Ryse, the game is moving forward really well - we just can't talk about it."

Rumors late last year suggested the game will no longer be exclusive to Kinect on Xbox 360, but may instead be released on the next console from Microsoft. Yerli wouldn't be drawn on the rumor.

"I don't know!" Yerli said. "We're still working with Microsoft, so obviously we can't change platforms. But if you mean within Microsoft - that I can't comment on [that]."

Ryse was announced during Microsoft's E3 conference in 2010 and was formerly known by its codename, Kingdoms.
