Path of Exile races return for a second season
Grinding Gears Games has announced a second season of race events for Path of Exile. Races are short events which start all players off in a fresh economy, giving everyone a chance to hit the top of the leaderboard and score prizes. Season One lasted for 109 events, some as short as minutes and others as long as a week. The schedule for Season Two has now been posted, so mark your calendars. Path of Exile is an indie, free-to-play dungeon crawler.

Path of Exile expansions expected once a year
Path of Exile will receive expansions for somewhere between five and ten years, Grinding Gears boss Chris Wilson told Joystiq at GDC. The dungeon crawler is still in open beta, but is expected to hit version 1.0 later this year, and will add an extra story act at that time; Wilson said that kind of expansion is “probably a once a year thing”. You can participate in race events in Path of Exile starting this weekend
During the Path of Exile closed beta, the game featured these things called “race events” where you start a new character and try to accumulate money and level up quickly and generally be awesome at the game while starting from scratch at the beginning of the event. And now Grinding Gear is bringing them back in the open beta.

Path of Exile open beta now live
Come one, come all, anticipated indie action RPG Path of Exile is now open for business. The free-to-play Diabloesque was developed in occasionally sunny Auckland and backed by over $2.6 million in crowdfunding. It boasts of a “gigantic” skill tree, 110 skill gems, randomly generated levels, a persistent online world, crafting, leaderboards in every mode and global PvP tournaments. Sounds hot, right? Path of Exile goes into open beta this month
Path of Exile will go into open beta this month, Grinding Gear Games has announced. Starting January 23, the beta includes content from Act 3. The online action role-playing game will contain microtransactions upon release, but not be a “pay-to-win” title, according to the developers. Sign up for it here. Thanks, Blue.

New Zealand developer Grinding Gears Games has announced another open beta weekend for Path of Exile. Path of Exile enters open beta this weekend
Path of Exile will enter an open beta this weekend, according to developer Grinding Gears. The online RPG has previously been in a closed state, but will now open up as part of the latest class reveal, the Shadow. The open beta takes place between 5pm PDT this Friday to 11:59pm PDT on Sunday.
