Famitsu has the first images of Musou Orochi 2 Special, a PSP release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game known as Warriors Orochi 3 in the west. This version has not been confirmed for outside Japan, but will include one new character – Rachel from Ninja Gaiden – and a Battle Royal Mode, with support for up to four players via Ad Hoc connection.

The PAL territory and US releases of Warriors Orochi 3 have both been pushed back by a week.

Andriasang reports a delay to the Japanese release of Dynasty Warriors VS; originally scheduled for March 15, it’s now expected on April 26. This is perhaps not the most exciting news out of context, but the hack and slash title was to be one of the first titles utilising the Nintendo Network, the company’s long-awaited answer to the PSN and Xbox Live, alongside Final Fantasy Theatrhythm. The Omega Force title’s network features have not been detailed beyond an emphasis on multiplayer, but DLC is expected to be a part of it.

Tecmo Koei is bringing Warriors Orochi 3 to the west on both platforms, pretty much winning my heart forever and ever.

Tecmo Koei Europe community manager Chin Soon Sun has confirmed Warriors Orochi 3 (confusingly titled Musou Orochi 2 in Japan) will release outside Japan. The crossover title will release on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and an official announcement and asset dump is expected at the end of the week. No release date was mentioned. Warriors Orochi 3 boasts the largest cast of any of Omega Force’s Warriors games, featuring characters from Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors in addition to guests from Ninja Gaiden; Dead or Alive; Bladestorm; Warriors: Legends of Troy; and Zill O’ll.

In addition to a new cast members introduced with this game, this Warriors Orochi 3 trailer shows guest characters from other Koei Tecmo properties holding their own against the Sengoku and Three Kingdoms era warriors.

The latest Famitsu has revealed three “guest” characters in Musou crossover title Warriors Orochi, sourced from other Tecmo Koei titles.

It’s a dream come true. The Vita incarnation of Omega Force’s hack-and-slash, Dynasty Warriors Next, will include a snapshot mode. According to Siliconera, you’ll be able to take real photos featuring the characters of the game. Possibly in ways that make it look like they’re kissing people.

Called Musou Snap, the mode is yet to be fully detailed or shown off in screenshots.

Dynasty Warriors Next is a launch title for Vita in Japan, and expected to follow suit internationally.

Apparently, the game we know as Warriors Orochi 2 isn’t actually the sequel to Warriors Orochi. That game has just been announced for release this year.
