The Legend of Zelda's latest playable warrior is somewhat obscure

I'm not saying most The Legend of Zelda fans won't have heard of Agitha, I'm just saying she's a slightly odd choice for the latest Hyrule Warriors cast member.

Agitha is a character from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and was listed as one of the playable fighters in Hyrule Warriors in this week's issue of Famitsu, according to Siliconera's translation of Japanese reports.

To jog your memory, Agitha is the princess of the insect kingdom, and sends Link off to fetch 25 kinds of insect.

Famitsu also reported on one other playable character, apparently - someone called Lana. Nobody seems to be sure who this might be, though.

Until now, only Link, Princess Zelda and Midna have been confirmed as playable Hyrule Warriors characters, from an expected roster of about nine. Of non-playable characters, we have only a comment from the same Famitsu report that Zant and Argorok will be included somehow.

A spin-off of The Legend of Zelda developed in the style of Dynasty Warriors by Omega Force, Hyrule Warriors releases on Wii U in Japan in August, before coming west in September.
