The Neverwinter beta is coming to an end soon, and it is going out with a bang of sorts. Starting today, a three part event for players in the beta will commence along with double the rewards until June 17. Then, the second phase starts in which players will be tasked with guarding the Protector’s Enclave until June 20. Finally, the third phase on June 19 add stronger and more monster. Those who succeed in the final two phases will be handed a companion, special rewards and other goodies. The event ends when the game launches on June 20. To get you excited for launch, Cryptic has released a new “What is Neverwinter” trailer. Enjoy.

Neverwinter players who are playing the beta may have noticed a rollback, after Crytpic was informed by players of an exploit which some players used to their economic advantage. Recall the recent exploit in Diablo 3 which resulted in the Auction Houses being brought down and you get the idea.

Neverwinter, currently in open beta, has a new video available to show you what you’re missing out on if you aren’t testing it. The video gives you a look into to the Whispering Caverns, mines which are located below Neverwinter. Wouldn’t you know there would be a Beholder lurking in the tunnels. Hateful things. Neverwinter will have mounts. Shocking for an MMO, isn’t it? In all seriousness, we’ve been handed screens and a trailer featuring the mounts in the game, and as a mount collector myself, I find the horses to be rather lovely. I have no desire to ride a spider, even if it’s virtual. To each his own, though, and if you purchase the Hero of the North Founder’s Pack, you’ll get one. That would make Lolth proud. Neverwinter’s first closed beta event is going on right now, so Cryptic has decided to unveil a new character class called the Devoted Cleric. Better time as any, right? The character deals substantial holy damage, and can be used for party support with AoE attacks and single target powers. Check it out below.
