Neverwinter, Star Trek Online developer hit with lay-offs

Cryptic Studios parent company Perfect World Entertainment has issued lay-offs, which rumours describe as devastating.

A number of Cryptic staff have confirmed via social media that they have been laid off, but Perfect World has not issued a statement.

We have reason to suspect the lay-offs may be quite severe. Massively sighted a couple of since-deleted tweets, one of which called the losses a "slaughter".

No word yet on whether other Perfect World teams, like the Redwood Shores office and overseas studios, have seen cuts.

Best of luck to all staff affected by the lay-offs.
