Tomb Raider: Guardian of Light series won’t return, taking ‘new Lara’ forward is the focus for next-gen
Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics is looking forward, not backwards when deciding what to do with Lara going in to the next generation. This means that the off-shoot series that began with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light won’t be making a comeback for one.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light goes free-to-play in your browser
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is now free to play in your browser, Square has announced. The title is the latest in a string of games released on the firm’s Core Online platform, joining the likes of Hitman: Blood Money and Mini Ninjas. The system uses Google’s Native Client on Chrome, is available for both Mac and PC users, and supports ads. However, you can pay $9.99 to remove the adverts from the game if you like.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light hits Chrome this fall
Square has announced it will release Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light for Chrome this fall. The game was first releases in August 2010 on Xbox Live Arcade before landing on Blackberry, iOS, OnLive, PSN, and Steam. “We’re happy to be working closely with Google to bring Lara Croft to Google Chrome without download or installation of game software for the first time,” said Phil Rogers, president and chief executive of Square Enix Europe. “Console quality gaming in the browser is an area we believe in and are committed to by delivering innovative, high-quality entertainment experiences.” More Square titles will be released through the Google browser in the next year. RIM pushing for heavier BlackBerry games presence with Sonic, Jetpack Joyride, more
RIM is set to make a heavier games presence for BlackBerry devices. The company’s head of gaming Anders Jeppsson tweeted from BlackBerry World big titles that are set to arrive to PlayBook and Blackberry 10, including Sonic 4: Episode 1, Jetpack Joyride, the just-released Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and more.
