Sony Europe fined £250k over 2011 PSN outage breach
SCEE has been fined £250,000 by the UK Information Commissioners Office over the infamous 2011 PSN date breach that sparked a panic among the press and gamers for fear that credit card data and other sensitive information was at risk. A video statement has been issued by the ICO on the matter this morning.

Hotz on South American “vacation,” lawyer fights back
George “GeoHot” Hotz has confirmed that he’s in South America, but only on a holiday paid for last November, while his attorney has hit back at Sony allegations of the hacker refusing to hand over hardware related to PS3 hacking.

Sony faces “misrepresentation” accusations in hack case
George GeoHot Hotz’s lawyers have accused Sony of deliberately misleading courts as to which of its national divisions owns the PlayStation 3 software development kit, in order to gain otherwise illegal access to the hacker’s hard drives.
