CryEngine 3 PlayStation 4 support confirmed
In news to be filed under the “water is wet” category, Crytek has announced PlayStation 4 support for its lauded CryEngine 3. Crytek also confirmed that it will itself develop games for the platform in the future. Being the force behind such things of beauty at Crysis 3, CryEngine 3 is growing in popularity and is noted for boasting a wide range of built-in high-end graphics features.

Modern Warfare 3 engine, CryEngine 3 vulnerable to security flaws – report
A report out of the POC2012 Conference in Seoul, via ComputerWorld, suggests games running CryEngine 3 and Modern Warfare 3′s IW Engine may both be vulnerable to separate security issues. Security consultant firm ReVuln demonstrated issues with multiplayer servers using both engines, and said similar problems may exist in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 – but will expect an official commission rather than volunteering the details to Activision.

CryEngine 3 SDK updated to version 3.4, see it in action
Crytek has updated the CryEngine 3 SDK to version 3.4 with new tools such as a “revamped DirectX 11 tessellation,” improved AI, advanced options for character rendering, an advanced Glass Shader and more. Warhorse signs CryEngine 3 licensing deal for its unannounced RPG
Prague-based developer Warhorse has announced it’s closed a licensing deal for Crytek’s CryEngine 3, which the firm will use to develop its unannounced RPG. Warhorse said the debut title from the studio will combine “open-world experience with a rich story and innovative gameplay elements.” Founded last summer, Warhorse is comprised of former members of 2K Czech and Bohemia Interactive as well as Dragon’s Lair author Martin Klíma.
