Quick quotes: Akria missing from Silent Hill: Downpour’s soundtrack due to “Japanese business politics”

akira-010412

“I’d love for [Akira Yamaoka] to be involved. Unfortunately, he left Konami, and can’t do the music for the new games [which is] a Japanese business politics sort of thing. We’d like for him to be there, but he’s not. So we took seriously finding a replacement, because you can’t throw in just any old sound guy. So we found Dan Licht, who does the music on Dexter. He was actually our top choice, so we were fortunate that he was willing to jump in.” – Silent Hill: Downpour producer Tomm Hullet to GameFront.

First video for Grasshopper and Digital Reality’s Sine Mora released

sinemora

A teaser video for Grasshopper Manufacture’s PSN and XBL shooter Sine Mora has been released. Co-developed at Digital Reality and scored by former Silent Hill man Akira Yamaoka, the “diesel punk” game has plenty of floating robots with octoarms, and massive trains and planes that do things only a fantasy setting such as this would allow. While the video doesn’t show any real gameplay, it does show off enough in-game footage to give you an idea of what to expect when it is released this winter. Thanks, GameSetWatch.

shadowsofthedamned-art

“In essence, I’m almost starting to do a complete 180, where I want to create content that maybe by the time you finish you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is from Akira Yamaoka?! Wow, this is completely new to me! It isn’t a side of Akira Yamaoka that I knew. Well, he’s evolved, or he’s changed, or something has happened.’” – Ex Silent Hill-composer, now at Grasshopper Manufacture, Akira Yamaoka, speaking to Gama.
