Silent Hill composer takes active games dev role

Famed composer Akira Yamaoka has turned his hand to game development once more.

"At Grasshopper, I'm creating sound, but not only sound," Yamaoka revealed during an 8-4 Play podcast, as reported by Joystiq.

"I'm the leader of the development team, so I'm tag-teaming with Suda 51, and I'm actually involved with game creation as well as sound."

Grasshopper Manufacture's most recent game is Shadows of the Damned, but Yamaoka teased "a few titles we're going to announce soon, so stay tuned."

Yamaoka is most recognised in the West for his work on the Silent Hill series, but he also had a hand in other Konami titles including Snatcher. He began his career in development before switching into sound design, and has served as producer on several titles.
