The studio announced in March its MMO The Secret World would have a fully free-to-play option hitting this spring, and along with a new way to pay, Secret World Legends would also release with a revamped combat system, newly designed progression system, updated visuals, and more.

Player populations in the adventure areas will be tightly controlled to make sure that the experience is "as immersive as possible" where the focus remains on the player and their journey.

Those who play The Secret World currently, can just stay on their severs and pretend nothing has changed as Secret World Legends is on a separate server. If payers wish to play the revamped version of the MMORPG, their membership will transfer over, but progression won't follow along.

There's still time to participate in the closed beta for those who want a chance to try it beforehand.

Along with the release date, Funcom also released a video providing a brief overview of what Secret World Legends is all about.

Secret World Legends will release on June 26.
