Mouse and keyboard support for Xbox One is "months away"

Speaking with PCGamesN, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer said that keyboard and mouse support for Xbox One is in the works, and shouldn't be too far off.

Talking about the difference between console and PC games, Spencer said "when we enable PC and mouse on console it’ll be interesting to see how many of those creators think about running their PC and mouse-only game on console, and then this idea of Play Anywhere might get even more interesting for those guys."

When questioned about when this would happen, he responded: "I keep talking about it in the press and my platform team keeps shaking their head, because they… Truthfully in our dev kit modes now keyboard works, mouse support is a little bit further away. I say it because I know it’s not years away, it’s more like months away, but we don’t have an exact date yet."

There has been speculation about this for a while - rumours of mouse and keyboard support popped up a year ago, and two years before that. It would certainly be in line with Microsoft's increased focus on PC gaming, though.
