The Division Incursions glitch: is Massive fixing the wrong problems?

When The Division's Incursions update went live yesterday players rushed to grab high-end loot drops from the Dark Zone.

But it was soon discovered that completing the daily Challenge mode gifted the player four high-end drops - another quick and lucrative way to score yellow loot. We knew we were promised one guaranteed drop for killing a named enemy, but this was like Christmas.

And then overnight Massive killed it with a headshot. No more four-packs of loot.

That's fair enough, but it was the one glitch/oversight that players were happy with. Unfortunately, the Incursions update is riddled with a handful of other glitches that range from annoying to game-breaking.

By far the most serious is the fact that some players' characters have gone AWOL. Missing. That wasn't fixed with last night's hotfix. It might be naive of me to assume it can be fixed quickly, but let's hope it doesn't take as long to figure out as the infamous backpack error.

And then there's the Falcon Lost problem.

The Division's new mission is similar to horde mode, as players take on 15 waves of enemies with no checkpoints. The problem is that if players leave your team of four there's no way for others to take their place - trying only gets players stuck in a weird loop. Matchmaking once Falcon Lost has started doesn't work.

The third glitch is kind of funny and takes us back to where we started. Massive fixed the four high-end drops in Challenge mode so hard that there's no actual Challenge mode today at all. It's gone from feast to famine.

Obviously with a live game like this we expect it to be tweaked and updated on a regular basis. S**t happens, it gets fixed eventually, and we should all be patient.

But it seems Massive's priorities are screwed. It's hotfixed a problem everyone was happy with and is relegating actual game-breaking bugs - the one's players get genuinely upset about - to be fixed at an undisclosed date. Let's hope they don't take weeks to fix.
