Metal Gear Solid creator opens new YouTube channel

Hideo Kojima has YouTube now, and promises regular updates.

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has a lot more freedom now that he's gone indie, and he seems intent on enjoying it to the fullest possible extent. For example, he has a YouTube channel now.

The new Kojima Productions YouTube channel isn't just a place for the team to post trailers when the time comes, either. The first upload is the first episode of a series called HideoTube, in which Kojima and colleague Kenji Yano talk over their favourite movies of 2015. Kojima has always been very open about his cinematic aspirations and influences, so it should be quite interesting to see how his tastes run.

The channel seems to have come about thanks to the efforts of YouTube Japan, and unfortunately hasn't been subtitled in full - although fans are invited to caption the video.

Kojima Productions is working on a game for PS4, but it's likely a very long way from reveal.
