PES 2016 owners will receive UEFA EURO 2016 content for free

Konami has announced all content featuring the 2016 UEFA European Championship will be free for PES 2016 users.

The firm said the free content is its way of giving back to those who have "continued to support the franchise" despite issues surrounding missing content in data packs.

"It has been a difficult few months for the fans in how we have been delivering content in our recent Data Packs, with some items missing that our consumers expected," said Konami's global director of the football division, Erik Bladinieres.

"The PES Production team appreciate their fans’ support and want to reward their support and bring back confidence in the Data Pack releases. With this announcement, we hope we can regain their trust."

The next data pack is scheduled for early December and it will include the Maracana stadium, more player faces, new national team kits, club teams and the player roster which was confirmed on October 19.

While the content of the UEFA EURO 2016 data pack has yet to be finalized, all content delivered by data pack featuring EURO for next year's tournament will be free to all existing PES 2016 users.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 was released on September 15 in North America, September 17 in Europe and on September 18 in the UK for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
