Angry Birds publisher cuts over 200 jobs

Finnish mobile giant Rovio has completed its announced job cuts.

The Angry Birds developer announced this round of redundancies in August, suggesting up to 260 staff would be affected.

Gamespot reports the total came in under projections at 213.

Although Angry Birds is still hugely popular, Rovio hasn't managed to follow through with another hit on the same scale - and the global merchandising phenomenon seems to be dying back a bit. It's a grim plummet from the company's astonishingly decadent heyday.

Rovio has said it will support former staff; we wish those affected all the best.
