PS4 price cut confirmed for European territories

The PS4 price cut has been announced in Australia. You'll be next.

PlayStation Australia announced a new RRP for the PS4 this morning. Previously retailing at AUD$550, the console now goes for AUD$480.

Judging by a comment from SCEE president and CEO Jim Ryan, the cut seem to apply to all territories under Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's umbrella.

“We are delighted to deliver the PS4 system at its best-ever value just in time for the holiday season, making it more accessible to a broader audience in Europe,” Ryan said.

Expect official confirmation for the UK and European nations in local business hours.

This isn't terribly surprising as a retailer leaked the price cut earlier in the week.

Last time we heard from Sony, it had sold over 20 million PS4 consoles. We're hoping Sony gives us an update at Paris Games Week, but we may have to wait for the November sales.
