NBA 2K16 digital sales doubled year-over-year, 4M units sold to retail

People love basketball.

2K today announced that NBA 2K16 set a a franchise record, by selling-in (sold to retail) over 4 million units worldwide within its first week. It released on Tuesday, September 29.

In addition, the firm announced the game's digital sales doubled the sales of NBA 2K15 during the same period and had nearly triple the number of games played online.

Developed by Visual Concepts, the game is available for PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
