Odin Sphere HD will be localized for 2016 western release

Odin Sphere fans will be pleased to know Atlus will release a localized version of the upcoming HD remake.

Announced for Japan earlier this week, the remake of the original PlayStation 2 game is in development for PlayStation 3, PS4 and Vita.

Titled Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, it will be released in 2016 both digitally and at retail in North America.

Updates include HD visuals, reworked art, new monsters and an expanded world, according to Gematsu.

It will also contain fully voiced story scenes, more refined combat and RPG systems and a Classic Mode for nostalgic purposes.

Based on Norse Mythology, Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir is a 2D action-RPG encompassing five chapters told by five different characters.

It releases in Japan on January 14.
