Splatoon: North American Splatfest delayed after issues with JP event

Splatoon's first ever weekend event has been pushed back.

Splatoon players had been looking forward to this weekend's Splatfest, a special event in which only players join sides to battle on behalf of their favoured faction.

On Saturday, North American players were to settle the vexing question of "cats or dogs?". Unfortunately, problems with the Japanese version ("breakfast: rice or bread?") last week led Nintendo to delay the event.

A new North American Splatfest date has not yet been announced. No word yet on whether the European event scheduled for June 27 ("pop or rock?") will be affected by the delay.

During Splatfest events, Splatoon adopts special decorations and restricts players to two colours only. Super Sea Snails are awarded to participants.
