Star Wars Battlefront won't have Battlelog support

Star Wars Battlefront is not just Battlefield in a Hallowe'en costume, so don't expect the same suite of features.

Star Wars Battlefront is the subject of intense anticipation and curiosity, so it's not surprising a bunch of rumours have turned up.

One of these rumours suggests that Battlefront will have its own version of Battlelog, the social network service supporting DICE's Battlefield series, produced by regular Battlelog developer Uprise.

According to assistant producer Jesper Nielsen, responding to comments on NeoGAF, that one's just not true.

"The Uprise website mentions that Uprise is working on Star Wars Battlefront. While Uprise has been doing Battlelog, does that automatically mean that we will do Battlelog for Star Wars Battlefront?" he pointed out, reasonably.

"No, it won't. That can only be an assumption, and I can tell you, no, there won't be Battlelog for Star Wars Battlefront."

That seems pretty cut and dried.

Star Wars Battlefront's release date was dug out of its teaser site today, and we also got a short tease for tomorrow's gameplay reveal.

Thanks, DualShockers.
