Mortal Kombat X: new Kitana, Reptile gameplay; Sonya Blade and Jax teased

It looks as though Sonya Blade and Jax could make a return in Mortal Kombat X, if a tease out of Brazil is on point. We also have some new gameplay footage of Kitana and Reptile below.

Not that both being included would be overly shocking or anything, but both characters were recently teased in a video Brazilian for Mortal Kombat X.

In the video, the actress playing Cassie Cage, the daughter of Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage, can be heard saying "Stay away from my mother," and "Are you okay, Uncle Jax? Your joints are cracking" per IGN.

Neither of the two characters referenced are shown in the video, but an image pulled from the Faction War trailer from earlier in the week shows a character who looks an awful lot like Sonya.

A Twitch stream today showed off Kitana and Reptile, and according to Ed Boon, some characters not included in the game will be revealed.

Gameplay footage from the stream is posted above courtesy of GamesHQMedia, which has some costume and moves gameplay videos pulled from the stream on there as well. We've posted those below.

One of these is apparently Jade, but her "spirit (and game-play) live on in Kitana's Mournful variation," according to Boone.

Mortal Kombat X releases worldwide on April 14 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
