DmC: Definitive Edition visits Vergil’s Bloody Palace

DmC: Definitive Edition introduces a feature fans have been asking for since the original launched - a Bloody Palace mode for Vergil.

Vergil’s Bloody Palace is a 60-floor combat arena with three difficulty levels, progressing from Nephilim to Son of Sparda to Vergil Must Die, for 20 waves each.

According to a PlayStation Blog post, Vergil's move set favours quick variety, layering melee and ranged moves.

"For example, Summoned Swords can be fired, and can pull enemies or lift enemies, without interrupting melee attacks. Spiral Swords passively damages enemies once activated, until it wears off. Doppelganger Vergil can be used to attack at the same time as you, or with a delay," Ninja Theory's Dominic Matthews said.

"When you layer everything up, you can hit with three or four attacks at a time, which is when Vergil is doing the most damage."
