The Witness passes key development milestone, still no release date

The Witness has seemingly come back from the dead. Creator Jonathan Blow has posted an update on the game's development.

Surely you still remember The Witness? Jonathan Blow's follow-up to Braid, which was shown during the PlayStation 4 reveal event all the way back in February 2013?

Well, today we got our first development update in a long while. Creator Jonathan Blow posted the update on the official blog.

"On Friday we officially reached the Puzzle Complete milestone. This means that all puzzles that will be in the game when it ships are in the game now," he said.

"It is now much more about turning the finish-the-game crank (making sure stuff plays well and polishing it up) for anything related to game design, modelling and texturing."

Blow was quick to add that this does not mean the game is done, as there's still some work to do.

Having finished 677 puzzles, the team still needs to work on other parts of the game such as story, menu system and more.
