SMITE Season One drew to a close this weekend with a tournament offering over $2.5 million in prizes.

Gamefront reports Cognitive Prime received $1.3 million for its victory.

Cognitive Prime faced down Titan in the grand finals, walking all over the top-seeded European team in the first two matches. Titan fought back, adopting some unusual tactics, to take the prize in the third and fourth matches with some unusual character choices.

Ultimately Cognitive Prime emerged victorious in the fifth round after making changes in its line up of characters - and banning Ares, Titan's lynchpin.

SMITE season two begins this month. The MOBA is on its way to Xbox One, if you're interested in registering for beta.
